There is this gem on West Clay in Collinsville called Old Herald Brewery. Have you had time to stop by and visit this unique location? This build was the prior location of the Old Herald Newspaper. We met with co-owner Derik Reiser to get a tour and learn more about this local restaurant. Not only is this a local restaurant with local flare, they are also one of a handful of locations with a brewery and distillery in one location.

Students learned all about the processes for both spirits and craft beers. So many factors that include raw ingredients, fermentation times, different additions, types of barrels, etc.

This venture was born out of many years after n computer and networking with AT&T and an opportunity to create a legacy for future generations. Derik prides himself in always pushing to innovations and trying to be on the cutting edge.

With a business less than 2 years old, the pandemic pushed Old Herald to keep expanding how they operated. Day one of quarantine, online ordering was ready to go. Easter Brunch and family meals, outdoor tent with music up to 3 nights/week, a holiday market with Ardent spirits, smoked ketchup and local organizations, all helped keep this amazing business alive during an incredibly tough time.

Old Herald will also host the Collinsville Triad CEO Tradeshow in their Press Room. We are so thankful for the time early in the morning and support of this local business.
